Snow fun

Nineteen. Last year we had to divide nineteen snowflakes into three, which was quit a hassle, to make sure that we all would get an equal share in enjoying winter. This year there was so much snow that we almost drowned in it.  Thursday two weeks ago we had no less than seven centimetres of real snow here! It was so much snow that our brand-new-self-made-sledge looked more like a submarine with Rosaleintje and me on top like two snow doll shaped periscopes, gathering heaps of more snow with every inch we moved forward.  And although it was very funny to see Rosaleintje all in white like a yeti with a snow boobs ten times her usual size, the sledging was not quite what is was supposed to be.  But the fresh snow was perfect for a snowball fight.

Snowball fights are tricky. You have to make sure that you are on the right team. Because when you are not, then you are in big trouble. The battle took place in front of our workshop.  I was in the Snow Team with Rosaleintje, Hand and PH04*. The enemy team only had one doll: Koen.

Our strategy to win the snowball battle was simple. In cases like these the simplest strategy often is the best. We divided tasks to talents. Hand, who could make giant snowballs, but that none of us could throw, was appointed to build our defence wall. PH04, who unfortunately has the standard Phicen feeble wrist click-on hands and risked losing them when throwing snowballs,  would do the distracting of the enemy team by making faces and doing sexy catwalk moves in lingerie.  Rosaleintje and myself would take care of the actual snow ball making and throwing.

So we would have had a team made in heaven, if it wasn’t for the fact that our enemy team was the fearsome giant Koen, wearing an enormous coat and a gigantic Russian trooper hat. It made him impossible to miss when throwing your snowballs. And throwing snowballs we did. Hundreds and hundreds of them. A  fierce but very local downside-up hail storm attack. Soon it looked as Koen had been standing upside down in a blizzard. But except for the snowball that Rosy accidently threw in Koen’s left nostril, it did not have much effect.

Sure we had great teamwork, a fine defence wall, a perfect enemy distraction and a real group yell (Wakka-wakka-Snow Team-tjakkahhh!!). Whereas Koen had just himself. His snowball throwing sucked big time and so was his reloading time (we did 20 of snowballs of ours to 1 of his ). But the size of his snowballs and the length of his arm were more than we could handle. Poor PH04 caught one of his snowballs right up her Phicen body, which forced us to look for her hand that had been ripped of her left arm during the hit. We found it pinned in the remains of Koen’s  gigantic snowball that had exploded on the concrete wall behind us. His next hit smashed a hole in our defence wall and created such a snow blast that we had to look for shelter. It became obvious that we needed help.

And then Loes showed up. Loes is one of our neighbours. Like us she has a company of her own. Not in doll making, but in upholstering giant’s furniture. (If you ever need to have a chair re-decorated, go to Loes. She is the best!)

Now adding new members to your team during a snowball battle is actually not allowed, but Loes is an female embee** and they have a way of persuading male embees. So when she cheerfully shouted to Koen that she would join our team, Koen smiled and Loes was in. And all of the sudden our plight turned into pleasure. Not that Loes was such a good snowball thrower, but confusion and fear got into the one rank of our enemy team. In less than ten minutes we had him flat on his back in the snow. I am still not sure what it was that made Koen decide to surrender. Maybe it was my snowball that hit him full on his beard when I was standing on top of him, maybe it was because of the snow that Hand was stuffing into his boots, maybe it was because of Rosaleintje shouting to  him to “SURRENDER OR BE SUPER-SUPER-SUPER SNOWBALLED !!” maybe it was because of Loes standing over him with her arms full of snow, but most likely it was because of PH04 in her lingerie who had retaken herself and now was fiercely shovelling snow into his neck.

It must be said that Koen took his loss well. Embees do not like the feeling of snow to their skin. And there was a lot of snow on Koen.  But fortunately for him the snow  in his boots and neck almost instantly turned into water when it touched his skin, which saved him a lot of work trying to get the snow out of his clothes.

As for the photos.... Sorry we were all too much busy during the battle to make photos. But..... I have something really special for you this time. It is a video. I have to admit that it is an experiment. I know you are used to photos, so we have added a few of them as well to the video. Personally I prefer photos too, but Koen thought it a good idea to try something else. And even though my posing on it sucks big time, not to mention my hair, I have to admit that it was great fun to make it.

Do I need to comment on this?....Hmm...  I don’t think so.

Ok folks, that is all for now. I hope you have enjoyed this blog and will be looking forward to the next one in April.

If you are a fan of Rosaleintje, then make sure not to miss the next blog, because it will be her last performance here.

Cheers,

Stellai

*PH04 is is the abbreviation of Proto Head 04. She is a ScoonimDoll design poseable head on a Phicen S01A body.

**Embee is slang for MB doll, which is the abbreviation of ‘meat based doll’

We don't have snow where I am but had a very funny picture in my head reading your story of snowballs.

We very much enjoyed the video. Our viewing was filled with laughter and gasps at the jumps and cheering at the end. What a great race.

Great story! I tip my cap to the videographer.

These ladies always put a smile on my face. Great stuff! Chris

Hi Koen, this video is hilarious, I had so much fun watching it!!! Chris

Hi dear Stellai,

This is more than an awesome story and the shoe-sled race video is so hilarious.
Upon the start this dangerous race with outstanding jump scenes ended without any crashes (!!) and was won by you at the ending.

Koen and videographing assistent surely did hold the breath while following this extageous race on this beautiful premiere edition 2017.

The whole team here enjoyed this great video on the TV screen and we just hope that next year's winter brings the same fun again!!
