Rome Was Not Built in a Day but Crumbled Overnight!

Body:

This month I am reviewing one more of Phicen / TBLeague's exclusive figure sets:

Item No:PL2017-107
Item Name:Spartan Goddess of War

Now this is were I have to put my own two cents into this review. It is obvious that there is a great big gap in what the Chinese are taught for history and reality.

So please accept my analysis based on some actual knowledge and from this point on I will reference her as a Roman Goddess of War (a female Mars, why not!!).

I did and have shared my views on this one with TBLeague and they do agree she is closer to a Roman than a Spartan, but since she is close to being sold out they aren't about to change the packaging!

What better back ground for her unveiling than the ruins of the Roman Pantheon and what better assistants then Gaius Julius Caesar a Centurion and a Legion Standard bearer.

I will tell you that I do have some complaints on this one. That Helmet for one is just way to tight and almost impossible to get on her correctly. I took my time and after a seriously long time managed to slip it back on her head so it looked decent (used rubber bands on her hair and moved the Helmet slowly holding the 2 side tabs out so they did not dig into her hair). It was then I realized how horrible she looked with that behind the ears neck gap all dolls have whose head comes off. So, what to do...I added my own touch and put 3 gold rings around her neck. Then back to getting that helmet on, again!! I think she liked the look as she seems pleased with her reflection in her sword. I shared this picture with my good friend at TBLeague. The response was:

"Glad to hear from you, thank you for the picture, it's very kind of you to bring me a gift each time. ^_^  haha, that's the way I think about it. In regard to the gap, you are creative in solving the problem. The neck rings look good on her."

Other then the fact that she has been miss diagnosed as Spartan and should be Roman and that horrible (but beautiful) helmet TBLeague has another winner in this one. I mean, even without trying the sassy nature of this one just comes thru in every image. From fighting her may out of that box to the homage she receives from the most famous Roman Emperor of all!!

Thank You for visiting my Blog!!

How did I get sucked into this hobby. oh yeah ... Hollows ... it's all his fault wink

Great blog LR!

Great review - but I don't recognise that background as the Pantheon at all . . . At first sight I thought it might be the Roman Baths at Bath but it's more possibly an area around the Forum . . .

Clearly a funny thing happened on the way . . .

:-)

Best wishes
