Our Monthly Featured Photographer for May is siliconefun:

 

The shooting theme:
The intense red glossy color of Mia's PU-coated catsuit and a pair of black shiny 7.5inch heels platform boots are a hot combination for a fashion-style looking shooting session.
There's just one fact who bothered me when starting this theme: the background choice! No wall in my flat will provide a perfect background to accentuate this sexy outfit.
Green screen technique was not the ideal way for doing this so I used another trick: a white PVC fabric, as used for tarpaulins.
My 2 tripods with the an extensible connection rod were ideal to fix the heavy fabric, the same way as I do for my green screen projects.
The smart white semi-gloss background provided the desired effect for Mia's sharp body contours packed into a red/black color combo and this special fashion-style shooting was still an awesome job for a Sunday afternoon.
Just too bad that all shooting sessions will take an end.

Some information on the used equipment:
My camera:
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX200V bridge camera.
All pictures were done free-hand. For some shots I used a small ladder to catch a full body view, on others the camera was held on the floor for some special shots.

Lighting source:
I started with the use of studio lights but the result was not satisfying on these shiny fabrics.
A large window provided the only lighting source for this shooting and this was the daylight with a cloudy sky.

Software rework:
Corel PaintShop Pro X7
Brightness/contrast and white balance for warmer colors were the main correction work to achieve a vivid looking photo serie.

It's only the inspiration who comes from the doll, the rest is that I 'try' do catch it as good i can for publication. I imagine that Mia's alive and directs the setup, only by this way I can produce a satisfying result.

Hi havefun,
The 'look' of the doll (position of the wig and the eyes) is the only thing we can change so it's the key of a perfect shot and it's the most sensible failure of a shot.

Hi deerman,
I don't make secrets but I'm still a rookie and I only like to create pictures on which the actor (the doll) feels happy in my mind. I guarantee you that this doesn't work everyday but I'm very tempted when it's a good looking result because dolls are so genious.

Hi Guy, what a great job, just using natural light at the end. I suppose that it was just possible with the white background. Mia´s outfit is simply stunning and the boots are simply amazing. Reborn Mia is really hot. Tongue out

Hi Chris,
when taking a closer look to the white PVC background you can even notice a slight reflection effect, I love it and it gives a special touch.

Reborn Mia has reborn me as well because last year, I still can remember, I was alone in these walls.

Long long ago a little green Guy said "There is no try, only do" and you did. Mia IS alive inside you and you have captured that in these pics. You have set up your background and Mia like the fashion mags do. Yes she is a doll but to look at these she is Mia the Fashion Model
