Hello Coverdoll!

It’s little ole me…..Chef Toy-R-Cees!  Bringing you more fun thru the kitchen.

Actually, this month’s edible fun can easily be made in any kitchen, bar, tail-gate, or toolshed.  I’m talking about everyone’s favorite late summer drink……the margarita!

Now, this was not really my first choice for a second issue of yummy in the kitchen, but by a series of strange circumstances, the den where I live just happened to pick up a margarita machine, and someone suggested it might be fun to show how easy it was to use.

Note….you don’t have to have a special machine to make this wonderful drink (a regular blender can do the job), but to do things right, for any size party or crowd, it really does make things easy, fast, and clean up is a snap…..that is….if anyone is sober and/or interested in clean up once the party makes it to it’s soaring roar (which it definitely will once these start taking effect).

Did I mention that liquor also serves as a great aphrodisiac?

You’ll need margarita mix, salt, tequila, triple sec, ice, some fruit (orange and lime for juice) and for garnishment (strawberries—***note these also make great aphrodisiacs!)

Margaritas can compliment dinner (doesn’t matter if the meat is red or white), they can compliment any desert (or even replace the desert entirely as they can be very sweet).  Or they can be for after dinner (or before dinner which could lead to skipping dinner all together—-hum….has anyone ever tried dieting with these?)

Please remember dearies, that liquor will impair your ability to drive a vehicle….so do plan to stay the night.

Easy-peasy.  Put the ice in the top tray. (Did you know that ice can also be an aphrodisiac?  —-yes they are everywhere you look for this month’s treat!).

Slice up the fruit,  Save a sliver or two to rim the glasses.  Squeeze out the juice of the remaining.

**Careful….juice can squirt and will sting if it flies into your eye!

For our recipe, we need 4 oz of juice to make 3 margaritas (2 oz of orange and 2 oz of lemon)—***—but note….recipes are guidelines open for modification.  If you don’t like orange juice, you can add more lime, lemon, tangerine—-any juice your taste desires.  Play with it and create your own exact formula!

The other ingredients will go into the pitcher.  Flip the little switch, and the machine does it’s magic.  The ice is shaved and slowly added to the blend.

Meantime, take your fruit slice and rub it along the rim of the glasses.  Wet the rim all the way around.  Now, roll the glass’s wet edge against your salt container so the salt sticks to the damp rim.  Our machine finishes the ice ingredient mix in about a minute.

Now pour….and adore.

These sweet and salties go down easy, and if you don’t pace yourself dearie….you may follow!

……Even so…….enjoy the rest of the summer dearies!

Come again next month for another edition of ‘Edible fun with Chef Toy-R-Cees’.  Leave me a note or a comment.   And remember

…..the kitchen can be the funnest room in the house! ~~ Any hour!!~~    Enjoy the heat……………………mmmmmmm……XO!!!
