Zoe off-road fun!

Still October, autumn has chimed in. Yeah, it was a great year with a lot of photos taken and our schedule isn’t yet completed. To our surprise, I succeeded to manage a very special outdoor shooting session for this season!! On our weekly organization meet at SF’s headquarter I told to the gals: “Let's go 4X4 and have some fun with a Suzuki Samurai!!” Mia - Zoe - Amy: “HEEH? 4X4? Is there a new resilient coming in soon and we’re a quadruple doll team?” Me: ”Don’t worry. A Suzuki Samurai is nothing other than an off road vehicle which is all wheel driven and that’s called an 4X4 and it belongs to one of my mates who thankfully offered me to do a shoot with one of you” Zoe was the selected lady to participate on this last outdoor shoot 2016 and she couldn’t await the new adventure trip.

So now we’re on the terrain at this cloudy Friday 14th, the equipment for this special session:

  • A nervous doll who’s known to have no fear for any kind of things we do.
  • A mud-splashed off road fun car.
  • A mate who never met a doll like Zoe before (I warned him because this red-haired cheeky gal isn’t the bravest of my trio!!!)
  • Photographic tools: a Nikon D750 with AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens, a Manfrotto MT190X3 tripod with 3-axis head.

As a good starter Zoe received a short introduction on how to NOT kill this Japanese machine but although I didn’t guaranteed to the owner that it will be in an operable condition after Zoe’s terrain escapades so we followed every maneuver very carefully (I didn’t mention that she’s not the most careful car driver from my team). Ready for the photo safari, we selected a nice spot and Zoe took a cool pose. Click Click Click, next place please….great fun seeing Zoe struggling with the gears. With the upcoming time Zoe’s hell ride became more and more bold until she stuck the Suzi on a steep bulge..(Smile & LOL). Yelling “Hey, what’s now” (with asking undertone) we told her that she can pull the car with the towing rope over this (damn) bulge but soon she realized the joke. Poor lil’ Zoe, exhausted and dirty, she wanted to stop riding and just do some posing on the Samurai’s body.

Three hours have gone and suddenly at an upcoming shower we decided to end this shooting session. Not to mention my cold fingers but Zoe knows how to warm them up again very shortly.

On a Friday midday in a rugged terrain somewhere in the woods....

Note from the Editor: Each month we will feature a different photographer's work. We invite doll owners and manufacturers alike to participate in this new monthly feature. Photo shoots must meet a minimum quality level. If you do not meet that level we are happy to work with you, critique your photos and help you to raise the bar on your photography. Good photo shoots can be had with low cost digital cameras. It is all in the technique.

Holy Wow

You must have had so much fun doing this, thanks to your friend for loaning the 4WD. What a great idea and Zoe looks like she's totally loving it too.

You do realize you have made my girls so wanting me to get a 4WD too now. Yeah, no, I got you Mitsy, we can't get another car.

Love the pics SF, great idea!

That was a great idea doing this shooting with the 4WD and I think also my friend would like to have Zoe on the passenger seat (he's single and interested on a doll!!). Some pics were taken by himself with my cam, he's a fellow photographer and enjoyed Zoe's posing. This adventure was for both of us a big fun and I can imagine your own fantastic trips with Mitsy and Ally at the outback.

Thanks DeesMan, love your comment!!

Awesome shoot SF! ... Did you use a stand or a gantry ... especially with the cliff pic ... you are brave!

Thanks Swan!!
I only used a doll stand for the cliff pic, on all other pics Zoe stands safely on her own.
