So, avast ye scurvy dogs and avail yourself of me blog! This here be the tale of Buccaneers who sail the seven seas and drift among the stars!!

This month's blog is no exception to my desire to share my lovely TBLeague ladies. And as always I like to add a guest or two. Since this month's theme is Pirates I chose a Pirate from one of my all time favorite anime movies. If you like that kind of stuff I highly recommend you watch it: Harlock: Space Pirate (2013):

First Up: Hot Toys Captain Harlock Space Pirate 2014 Movie Masterpiece

"Mankind is dying. Only one man can do anything about it, Space Captain Harlock, but the Gaia Coalition will stop at nothing to end him."

He is a pretty cool and very articulate figure. It was easy to put the few items in the box on him and his belts had snaps in the back so, well dressing him was a snap! He is okay on some poses standing by himself. He does come with a stand, which I immediately tossed into my bin of stands. He also comes with his pet Gooney bird, weird but funny...

The main event of course is our star and so "Batten down the hatches" and enjoy

Item No:PL2018-114 Name: Arhian Pirate

"In the years after the third Arkhorian War, hordes of pirates, and mercenaries roamed the savage seas, their swords serving no cause but themselves or the highest bidder. Across these bloodstained waters rode Arhian and her lover, Captain Ras, a proud and fierce pirate couple, their guile and wit as cutting as their blades. Storming through an age without heroes, she claimed it for hers and cleaved her way into legend."

As always the box art is gorgeous and I make sure that as soon as I am done with my photo shoot that it and all the packing (I always store the stand in the box) are packed up and placed in a safe spot along with all my other boxes.

Layer one as always contains the body, head and some of the basic dressing items to complete her costume. Nothing here was to hard to do. To get the bracelets up high on her arms were they belong you have to remove her hands. Slide it up as far as it goes till it starts to fight back. Then place a drop or two of liquid dish soap on the bracelet and a few drops of water. Works every time! What struck me the most is her face. She is drop dead georgous! I already have a spare headless body for her. She looks like she started with a S23B body to begin with.

Layer two contains the remaining parts of her costume and her stand.

Stand: This is not one of the better stands and I have a feeling I may never use it again. There is no true spots for her feet, all uneven and the texture makes it slippery on the hard feet. She poses very nicely, as you would expected her to but she fell a lot during this phase of my photo shoot.

Costume: Completing her outfit was something altogether a different experience from the first part of this journey. Let me tell you that corset has tiny grommets that you have to thread a piece of string threw. Of course the string is exactly the width size of the hole so there is no way I could actually do this. Even a standard needle and thread was not an option as the eye hole on the needle was to fat to go threw the microscopic brass grommet. I again was lucky because in my bag of weird tools I have a needle from an old singer sewing machine. The eye hole part is the same size as the rest of the needle, thus a very small hole. But I got that bad boy in the hole on the second shot. Was easy now, just zip and done. So can you tell in the pictures that I used black thread instead of black string. I put the "string' in the box just so I have all her original parts. Now at this point I realized that her cap was on upside down, still looked okay...but it is almost impossible to put it on and keep it on. It is a very tiny elastic gauze thing with microscopic pearls - all it wants to do is ride up and pop off that head. Almost every picture I had to put it back on. Toss that thing into the box with the string and leave it there....

When at last my two Pirates meet you can guess what happens, neither wants to be first mate. Both want to be in the top position!! Looks to me like they will have to sail away in their own separate directions...Such is the life of a Pirate!!

Wow... Just wow..! She sure is one gorgeous girl.. The outfit looks simple but very effective..

I'm guessing with such a well tonned body she would be very active.. With all that moving around aboard the ship how would she keep her artire in place and stop any "Embarrasing" moments..?  frown

No wonder all the men are chasing her..! Watch that sword boys, lol..

It sounds like she is amoung one of the easiest TBL figures to assemble, apart from the thread issue..! I'm sure this will be a highly sort after collectable..!

Captain Harlock is also a fantasic figure.. The detail on his outfit is outstanding..!

Well done Mr Ranger.. Your pictures have really captured the moment, and taken us back to those squash buckling days.. hehehe.. Now where is my boat..?wink

Thanks OZ!! Tug Boat on it's way!!
