This month I am focusing on gearing up for another gig for a large manufacturer as an exclusive photographer, and had to re-arrange a lot of the studio to acommodate the space. I'll go into this in a future blog and the details. I'm still doing work for Doll4Ever, and plan to release more sets for them in time.
I did a set in a small upstairs bedroom which has westerly afternoon sunlight, and this provides a nice ambient light in mid afternoon. Although it can get hot in there, I try to get done without sweating too much as I have a small fan blowing to help! I also used two diffuse light shining through a diffuser to prevent too much shadow and soften the light up a bit, and this works at F2.8, but requires a tripod. To help with that, I use a TTL off camera flash set to -2 exposure comp, and that helps brighten the highlights and give that look I like. I also use ISO400, 6800K, exposure set to +0.3.
Each light is spaced 45 degrees apart, and this lights up the subject better and hopefully prevents one side from being over illuminated - although, one has to experiment with light placement to achieve a uniform exposure.
Anyway, enjoy the pics
