Something New and Something Old or Samurai vs Ninja!

This month I wanted to do something special. There is a good chance I will have to skip next month as I am having surgery on my left hand. So I looked at my new figure and it reminded me that I still had one set unopened buried in the back. When I started collecting Phicens was shortly before the hard foot models were released. I dislike the soft footed versions as they won't stand unless with a stand, understand? So to avoid the insane attempt to make her stand, I used the stand so I hope you under stand my delinia.

Background Story:

None was provided. Based on her outfit and the nature of fuedal Japan she would then be a Ronin. A Ronin ( "drifter" or "wanderer") was a samurai without a lord or master during the feudal period (1185–1868) of Japan. A samurai became masterless upon the death of his master, or after the loss of his master's favor or privilege.

Background Story:

Born of an American mother and raised a Catholic, Ana Ishikawa is a conscripted outcast of the Kyoto sohei, a renegade from a society of renegades. So based on this story and the huge amount of weapons in her set, Including a throwing Star, she is no doubt a Ninja!

Review:

Both sets were a dream in that all the tough stuff is already on the body. Nothing was complicated to put on. One thing that did surprise me is that the Shi set body has nipples. Because now all sets for world distribution are missing them, thus  Kiyoha has none. No molded stands this time, tho Shi comes with the old style Phicen stand, so that is a bit of a savings in cost and weight. The 2 of them are, as is 95% of all set's are, suntan. Shi is the slightly darker version and of course Kiyoha is a perfect match for the current hard foot bodies. I was blown away with the Kiyoha figure, which appears the be based on the S19B headless body. Of all the bodies they make, this version is the very best for standing on it's own.  If you consider that Kiyoha's feet that she comes with are actually molded with the feudal clogs, she is amazing. While Shi, even on her stand, kept falling over and her shoes kept coming off, Kiyoha never flinched a muscle. Look at that last picture, she is standing and bending over, not many figures would allow you to do that!

The future looks bright for the future sets if they keep making them easy, beautiful and fully functional!
