Fate, Art and LPSL

Have I ever been to the Mediterranean coast of France? No, I have not. Do I want to go the Mediterranean coast of France? You bet your ass I do! Especially after reading and watching that fantastic book ‘Chloé’, written by our own celebritarian Haremlover. Ok-ok, the word is ‘celebrity´, but just look at this new word: celebritarian.... feel it, taste it, admit that it has depth, the kind of depth that says: this is a doll of statue, of wisdom, of dignity. This doll is not just a celebrity, no, this doll is a... celebritarian. Perfect fit for Haremlover.

Amsterdam, 22th September

Ok, I should have been at the far end of the world managing the meet again. But it was not to be because of.... fate, destiny, bad weather forecast, Koen’s miserly mentality, and/or just the plain fact that location of the meet is fockingfaroway. Indeed the order of things here is relevant. And indeed, for once Koen’s questionable motives appear not to be the main reason for me not going to Wales , for there seems to be a higher being controlling my destiny, for it clearly must have been fated that I stayed in the Netherlands this time.

So, it was destiny that brought me to Amsterdam on the 22th....ok, and two trains and a city bus. And there, In the Fanfare, together with several other artistic and Art loving dolls, we listened to the lecture of Haremlover, and his plea to the embees attending, to have them invest in interdoll relations. This, he said, will result in a wonderful life full of imagination. And living myself in a house with several other kinds of dolls, I experienced his lecture to be a thrill of recognition. Though honesty commands me to say that the embees in my family pretend to suffer from a sudden eye-roll attack every time when I share my imagination with them.

Anyway, if you would like to see the video that Haremlover has made of his lecture, then just click the link below:

After the lectures, there were three of them altogether, it was LPSL* time. This, I have learned, is a compulsive embee ritual that I have to endure when meeting new embees. It seems that by default embees think of other type of dolls as virtual beings, or at best as some kind of holographic images. Whether this is related to the fact that their virtual lives are more important to them than they physical lives, I do not know. But it is a fact that embees I meet for the first time always need to ensure themselves that I am not holographically generated. Whereas to all other kinds of dolls this is plain obvious, the embee’s standard response while pinching my leg is cooing: “ Ohhhh, it feels as if this is a real leg!” To which nowadays my response is: “Welcome back to the real world.”

In the old days I used to respond to this with phrases like: “Next time pinch your own leg!”, or “Ok, now lower your pants and let me pinch yours!” Once I made a big mistake by responding with:” And my ass is also real!” after which I was obliged to lower my pants for some buttock pinching…. But I got him back as his female companion was watching over his shoulder when I suddenly turned around, showing them my absolutely-not-so-holographic pussy, while licking my lips, which clearly was too much for him, for his ears instantly colored from pink to red…. to nearly purple when his female companion suddenly hit them hard with her handbag.

*Short for: Let’s Pinch Stellai’s Leg

Ever been to a lecture for Art loving dolls? It is a must-go! Art has this magical effect on dolls to become artistic themselves as well. Whereas normal dolls act and dress themselves just... well.... normal, dolls that have been infected with the Art virus tend to dress themselves up like artwork and also start to behave likewise. Some go: ”Ohh dolly me, bra-bra-brah”, whereas others present themselves as Wizard-of-Oz-drowned-in-alcohol-with-dreadlocks-look-a-likes. And everything in between, which is a lot! So it was hardly surprising to see that amongst the audience there was also a Chinese looking tourist doll with a red hat. In fact it was so much not-surprising that it was surprising I noticed her, for Amsterdam is daily flooded with shiploads of dolls coming from China, attempting to get all its pictures in their pockets of the (w)hole of Amsterdam within half a day.

It must have been her red hat that made me notice our Chinese guest, modestly sitting in the back of the salon where she seemed to be more interested in the book “Chloé”  than any other of the attendants, who were all too much busy with showing off themselves to themselves and others - in that order. So when the LPSL ritual was over I decided to have a chat with this one doll that really showed an interest in Harem’s book.

It was only then that I noticed that this lost Chinese doll, cut off from the herd of Asian selfie-lemmings, was in fact Kayla, one of the closest friends of Chloé and that she was not lost at all, but had accompanied Harem to promote his book at the opening of his publisher’s house. Even though I know Kayla from the many photos that Harem has recently posted of her here in CD, I had never met Kayla in person till now. So, obviously it was a big surprise and a huge thrill that we suddenly were actually pinching each other’s legs and arms, appropriately cooing: “Ohhh, you are so real!” (N.B. The lecture was organised by and for embees, so obviously we thought it wise to copy their ritual for cooing and pinching in first-introductions-with-other-doll-species.)

Kayla told me that Chloé had inspired her to make a book herself and that she wanted to make a world tour for her book to have it filled with lots of photos of her in different locations. The series of her visiting London had been her stepup. And so I invited her to come to Arnhem and stay with me to get some photos for the next episode of her book....

Christmas period is coming up and guess who is going to  have a special guest role in my new Christmas photo series ;-)

P.P.S.

Koen had ‘forgotten’ to take his camera to the lecture....SIGHHH. The picture on top had been generously offered for publication by Harem. As for the other photos... well, they are just a bunch of holiday snapshots of last summer. I am sorry. I will make it up to you in my next blog. Promise!

We're most honoured that Kayla came to see us in the big city and Kayla tells me she's much looking forward to her adventures with you all.

As for "snapshots", your photos are really brilliant.

Best wishes
