All about Bella ...

The Doll:

Bella is a Zelex SLE 172E doll with ZXE 204 head, which I received in March. The SLE dolls don't offer any customization, but I've modified her with some piercings, and I like to try different styles with various wigs and outfits. I think she looks stunning in everything

The Shoot:

I wanted to showcase some of the different styles I have tried with the doll, so this is from 4 different shoots:

• The innocent look where I dressed her in white and pink, and with blond twin braids
• The police officer in uniform showing up at a crime scene
• The professional business look in a pinstripe suit and glasses, getting ready for a day at work a warm morning
• The dark goth look. This woman is edgy with blue hair, dressed in tight vinyl and fishnet and with several tattoos in addition to the piercings.

I tried to match a scene with each look, and had a lot of fun thinking up the various scenes and scenarios I could play with. And this model is luckily very patient, allowing me to take my time to get the right scene and look

The Gear:

I'm using a Sony a7R III camera which I've had for quite a few years. Usually for portraits I will use a Sigma Art 85mm F1.4 lens, and that's also what I used for all of these shots. For main light I usually use a Godox video light with an umbrella. And I then I have a couple of Godox flashes which I often will use with color gels to create some interesting light from the side or back.
