Hello everyone and welcome to this months Doll New's Monthly.
Today we talk about heads and how the heads are getting softer and softer to match the softer silicone being used today in the newer bodies.
So as the silicone got softer and softer we ended up with problems that happened when it came to implanting hair into the heads.
The silicone was simply too soft and the tiny hairs pulled out of the softer silicone.
I had my own ideas on how to fix this like maybe dipping each single strand of hair into some kind of glue but of course its already a huge process as each hair is implanted one by one by hand so adding in a step like this was probably not the best choice ..
Well Zelex figured out a way to achieve the softer results of the newer soft silicones but yet still hold the hair well like the harder silicone heads do.
So Zelex contacted me and told me a few things about how they do this.
Below is the message they sent me.
The normal hair implant technology is to implant the hair strands into the doll's scalp with a hair implant needle, and the implant depth is usually 4-5mm.
If the doll's head is a hard silicone, this depth can ensure that the implanted hair strands are strong and won't fall off easily.
However, if it is a soft silicone head with movable jaw and oral sex function, the implant depth of 4-5mm is very unstable, and the hair strands will be torn off by normal combing.
Therefore, Zelex's soft silicone head with implanted hair has a three-layer structure in the implant area, the innermost layer is a foam core for weight reduction, the second layer of structure is a harder silicone layer, and the third layer is 4mm soft silicone layer.
When implanting hair, we use a special implantation needle to implant the hair strands through the 4mm soft silicone layer into the second harder silicone layer, with the implantation depth of the hair strands reaching 6-8mm.
With this design, although it is more difficult to implant the hair strands and the speed is reduced, and at the same time the precision of the silicone head filling material is put forward with higher requirements, but it can ensure that the hair strands are firm and not easy to come off when combing daily.
It ensures that the oral sex function can be used normally. It also shows the unique hair styling advantages of the hair implant head.
So I found that interesting and seemed more work then just glueing the strands in but hey its a great solution .
So they sent me a photo illustrating the new head layer system and the photo is below..
So as you can see even if your head is a soft head they can add a hard layer a bit under it and implant the hair down into the harder layer.
This is great news as many people where wishing they could get implanted hair on there softer heads.
Implanted hair is not for everyone and some people enjoy the freedom of changing wigs for different hair styles and colors but to be able to have these options is always a great bonus.
