Moving Forward: Embracing Change, Healing, and Growth
This past year has been a whirlwind of change, but the last four months in particular have redefined what life, love, and healing mean for me and Teej. We’ve weathered storms we expected to face but didn’t know when, we endured loss that shook the core of who we were, and somehow—through the mess, the silence, the noise, the chaos, the hard choices—we’ve found peace. Not just peace, but joy. A quiet, steady kind that settles into the bones and feels earned.
One of the most profound changes we've made is moving into a new home. It wasn’t just a change of address—it was a symbolic and tangible shift into a new chapter of our lives. This space represents healing, hope, and the intention to move forward with clarity and purpose. In many ways, it has become our sanctuary.

The journey hasn’t been easy. In grieving and rebuilding, we’ve had to reassess what we need to feel whole again. This meant setting firm boundaries—something that can be incredibly difficult when it affects relationships with friends and family. But what we’ve realized is that peace sometimes comes at the cost of comfort. Growth demands honesty, and that honesty can be uncomfortable for others. Still, we’ve chosen to honor our own emotional and mental well-being above the fear of disappointing others.
The result? We’ve never been happier. Emotionally, we feel stronger and more connected than ever before. Physically, we’ve made health a priority in a way we hadn’t before. We walk more. We eat better. We breathe deeper. We laugh—real, from-the-belly laughter that reminds us we’re alive and moving forward together.
Transition can be terrifying, especially when it’s born from pain. But in choosing to move forward—not perfectly, but with intention—we’ve discovered that there is beauty on the other side of heartache. There is life. And that life is worth every step, every decision, every boundary we’ve drawn.
To anyone standing on the edge of change, wondering if healing is really possible: it is. You might not see it yet, but trust that with time, courage, and a little bit of faith, forward is the best direction you can go.
LOVE YA!
