September means back to school for some of us, but I am spending the time at home with a Gynoid this time, a model 11- whom I call Mei.
Mei was bought used, however, Gynoids are very expensive new, and if you can find one, you will are lucky. They are fragile as the do not use hardened hands, and their silicone is very soft, and this can lead to serious damage.
For this photo set, I decided to film outdoors at noon, under partial shaded pergola. With a full sun beaming down from overhead, the ample shade created great contrast, but the sun spots were problematic.
I did have a person help with blocking most the sun spots My Sony rIV was mounted on a ball-tripod so the image quality was more controlled. With any Sony camera, you can tether wirelessly via wifi to an Ipad.
This helped me observe the details better and make any needed adjustments. I used a continuous light aimed at her face but on-axis to eliminate harsh shadows and illuminate her hairline more.
Outdoor doll photos are a great way to explore nature and doll beauty, and trying to achieve a good result takes considerable time and patience.
