This month I am featuring Katniss, a TAYU 150cm doll. For this photo set, I decided to photo her outside at a friend's house, who has many acres of land, and we had lot's of privacy.
I changed Katniss' makeup with more eyeliner, lipstick and more attidute. There was even a lip ring at some point before it fell off.
The scene was simple, and required just a place for her to stand, lean against and sit. The lighting was a simple godox strobe to supply the main light and elimate shadows. The sky was overcast, and we even had a bit of drizzle on occasion, so there was very little sun to deal with.
The main issue in these situations, is the lighting can become flat with low contrast, but the strong main key light helped to a degree. The photos were also taken using a ND filter set for several stops of light blocking, and this was used to help elmiminate some diffuse glare I was getting and also enabled me to use lower f-stops without 'blowing' out the scene. These ND filters can also be used when filming in bright daylight when using a low f-stop is impossible due to shutter speed limits.
