ABYSS 2007

ABYSS 2007

As reported by Mike Kelly

Change is in the wind at Abyss – here’s a roundup of a few of the most important.

The new lower priced doll in the market replacing the RDlatex is the Flat Back Torso. The new torso is $1499 and is also an answer to the many Torso products being marketed by Abyss’s competitors. This product is a flat torso with complete boobs and a vagina entry. The flat back torso’s vaginal entry as well as it’s size 34C breasts were created from Abyss’s Body 7 and made with the same high grade material as their dolls with foam inner core. The Flat Back Torso is a very solid product weighing approx. 35lbs. This torso is available in medium skin tone, shaved only. The Lead time is only 6 – 8 weeks.

To make an excellent doll – in my opinion order a face ($500 bucks) and figure out a way to mount it to the body. A Styrofoam head used for wigs would be prefect for this. Add a wig and you would have a fantastic and light doll that costs only $1999!

Abyss is also working on an upper torso doll complete with head. This, however would be a full body doll with a front and back. Abyss has a new CEO who is also developing a male flat back torso doll.

Matt Krivicke is now on board as CEO at Abyss Brining with him his knowledge of market research and product development. Matt Krivicke was Matt McMullen's boss and mentor when RealDoll was invented and worked with Matt M on the development of the first dolls. He has been involved with the company since it's inception even though he has not worked for the company. Matt K's has an intimate knowledge of the product since it's very beginning. Matt K is working on developing a line of new products similar to the torsos, new doll bodies, a new line of male dolls, several new faces including a fantasy line and much more.

Abyss is also interested in taking the company into the fine arts realm and many other industries besides "love dolls". Abyss is developing more retail connections for people to see and purchase the dolls as well as other RealDoll products.

For the female line of dolls, fingerwires that no longer poke through the silicone has been installed on all the dolls – along with a stronger blend of silicone that is more tear resistant.

Abyss has been improving their line of dolls for 10 years now and show no sign of slowing up!

They also have a new website in development that will include a nice picture shoot of the Body 10 doll.
