October Calendar Girl

Dear Readers,

It hardly seems a month since our last Calendar Girl post, what with the visit by the Queen of Curves and her Consort, lots of photo sessions and so much to read at CoverDoll. Still, summer is coming & Lubov poses this month.

This month, as Luba's lips are so very wonderfully soft and kissable we thought we would discuss;

MWAH! MWAH! Smackeroos - Kissing.

Ingmar Bergman said that "A Kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous".

Particularly useful for us dolls who do not have a lot to say anyway.

Scientific tests have discovered that a man's saliva fills with testosterone upon seeing an attractive woman. Kissing passes some of these hormones on to the female, making her more in the mood for love.

Bring on the testosterone we say.

Apparently, during a passionate kiss, you can burn two calories a minute.

Well we are not fat are we so must be true.

The Roman Emperor Tiberius issued a decree banning kissing because it was believed to be responsible for the spread of mentagra, an unpleasant fungal disease which disfigured the faces of Roman nobles.

Spoilsport, no mention is made of the disease affecting ordinary romans or slaves however so presumably the nobles did not miss out.

In the early years of hollywood sex was highly restricted on film - you know when a man and a woman got in a clinch the movie would fade away to fireworks or crashing waves on the sea shore, etc.  And a kiss was not allowed to last for more than 3 seconds. True.

Alfred Hitchcock solved that problem though. Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman, when doing a long kissing scene would very slightly break away after 2.5 seconds, whisper some very very short dialogue, and go back for another 2.5 seconds - again and again and again and .......
