One more pic or hint to come if too difficult

Hi guys, here's the new game. It seems to be so easy when watching the movie a few days ago :jawdrop:

good luck ;)

Dear Elle,

We can only speak for ourselves but your movie games are never easy (except for #14 when your picture showed Sean Connery & Tippi Hedren in Marnie). It is a process of analysis and deduction and your clues.

In your current challenge Khaki Pith Helmets were used from about 1840 on. Mainly in Africa and India.

The rifles and uniforms are unclear and difficult to date accurately, but almost certainly pre WWII by which time pith helmets were seldom used.

And the poster suggests anger about the leaders at the time for their stupidity. Prime Minister's Disraeli or Gladstone perhaps by their attire? The other is too fuzzy but looks Oriental. The Oriental connection is further advanced with Elle in a Bamboo cage.

So, a war movie. An unpopular war (though it may also be a satire movie about a war). Set somewhere in the Orient? around the mid 1800's to early 1900's.

All we have time for at the moment. If no one guesses it we will be back to look again on Monday.

Having a dinner party this weekend. Lots to do, prepare and then clean up.

very good beginning, Muzza :)

Have a nice party ;)

I think I know the answer to this one my friend ;) And some very interesting info from Muzza, but it was the wanted poster that gave me the biggest clue.

Kharn

CoverDoll Publisher To err is human to forgive divine.

OK, the dinner and dessert are prepared (Coq au Vin and steamed fruit pudding) with just the vegetables and nibbles to do at the last moment. And two tables ready for tomorrows Luncheon party. Why two you ask? Because normally we have them at the 'outside' area by the pool. But at the moment it is a very cold (for us) 14 degrees (57F) and raining so even with the brazier going it will be too cold outside so we have also got a table ready 'inside' just in case the weather stays cold, wet and miserable.

Nony is satiated, washed and cleaned Wink. Just need to dress the girls and we are all ready.

So we have a bit of time to spend on the movie game - even if Kharn has the answer (without giving any hints or analytic clues Sealed) so we assume he just recognised the wanted poster? It is unusual to be held by a Brit Army Platoon rather than just on a notice board or tree.

Well the only thing we can think of with Oriental, War, about the late 1800's, is the Boxer Rebellion in China. So we will take a guess at the movie being '55 Days at Peking' (Without any degree of confidence we hasten to add).

Hi Muzza,

i like to read that despites all the efforts of french men & women in politics, human's rights ... what the world is influenced by France is : food and high fashion :) }:) ;) and the world is... true ;)

Yes, Kharn got the good answer in a second ;) Congrats to him, he brilliantly guessed the title ;) (even finding the year of the movie which has several versions)

the game still runs ;) I will post a new pic next week but i have to say you to forget about 'wars' ;)

cheers,
Jihan

If not a war movie then it must be a Comedy, Theme or Love Story. Not many comedies are made with several versions. Perhaps something to do with rescue of a damsel in distress (Elle in bamboo cage).

Google searches are not picking anything up to help. This is a tough one but we do not give up. Elle is getting revenge for some tricky riddles in our blog Yell LOL }:)

Any more clues coming?

dolltime

yes muzza, i will do it ;)
i've only one more pic for this game :jawdrop: it must be accurate :)

new pic added ;) it should give you a good hint in guessing why those 2 peoples were "wanted" by the British Police in India :)

Cheers,
Jihan & Elle

We were so on the wrong track with our thoughts and searching. Embarassed

With the new clue we think it might be Phileas Fogg and his companion Jean Passepartout trying to go 'Around the World in 80 Days'?

It is so long ago that we saw the 1956 version (no others) that we do not know which version the photos are from. Assuming we are now correct.

Yes it is ;) The 2004 version with Jackie chan, Steeve Coogan and Cecile de France

"Passpartout and Phileas journey to Paris, where Passepartout must evade warriors sent by General Fang, who is after the Jade Buddha that he stole. Fang had previously given the Buddha to Lord Kelvin in exchange for military assistance in her attempts to conquer Lau Xing's village."

They were put in cages at Lau XIng's village but not sure it was possible in the 1956's version :?

Congrats to Kharn, then to you Muzza ;)

Cheers,
Jihan & Elle
