Instead of trying to slow it down directly, they should have nudged the asteroid sideways so it's trajectory would have missed the planet. More effective as well as less power consumming. But that wouldn't have made for as exciting a story. BTW, if the boobieprize has a device that can creat wormholes, what do they need a warp drive for?
This is a great story. There is so much about it. I guess I have to re-read my university physics books I know about Einstein, but The Thongs Is it about the pussy factor
