Masturbation - Enjoy for Health.

Body:

We were sadly shocked, when initially googling this topic, that so many poor souls were deeply troubled by their masturbation and pleading for advice on how to stop it or control it. And I was further saddened by the ridiculous notions and advices put forward by the 'Agony Aunt' responders.  For heaven sake, where did the idea that masturbation is wrong come from? No, don't answer that ....}:)

Apart from breathing, drinking and eating it is possibly the next most healthiest thing you can do.

Regardless of cultural attitudes and values, masturbation has been found in all societies (and in the natural non-human world). 95% of men and 70% of women (give or take) do it. There are no harmful side effects (except any feeling of guilt which negativity can threaten a persons physical and mental well being) and it is good for you.

So what are the benefits of masturbation? Here are a few:

To experience pleasure, relieve tension (sexual tension or general tension), relieve stress and relax.

To engage in sex when a partner is unavailable or does not want to have sex and to learn about what feels good, for yourself and your partner and how you and they like to be stimulated or pleasured, and thus improve ones sex life when one does have a willing and available partner.

Alleviates premenstrual tension for many women.

Allows sexual pleasuring for those not ready to engage in vaginal, oral or anal sex.

Helps induce sleep and relaxation (so long as those silly guilty feelings are put aside).

For women it can help them learn how to achieve orgasm.

For men it can help them increase ejaculatory control and manage rapid or delayed ejaculation.

Increases blood flow to the genital region which can help sexual functioning and general pelvic health.

Strengthens the immune system.

Helps prevent prostate cancer and Urinary tract infections.

Promotes a general feeling of well being (dopamine and endorphins). And by no means least ...

It is a safer form of sex that carries no risk of STD's or pregnancy.

So give yourself (and your body) a treat this Christmas - enjoy an extra - and thank your god(s) for its blessing.

Happy Festive Season.

Another great blog and a very interesting one at that. I know when I was a child that masturbation was looked down on, but I thought that we had moved on from those dark ages to a time when we understood that it was both healthy and natural.

A great topic and a merry festive season to you and all :) .
