"Machette Kills "

"As Reported by Dollyforme"

The sad thing about Machette Kills is that the best scenes are on the DVD deleted scene list. We got some hot nudity and some really funny stuff – so Go watch them! Anyway - the GA GA good looking Amber Heard is in this move and it is worth watching just for her. I say rent this DVD!

In Machete Kills, Machete (Danny Trejo) and the gang are back for more craziness. After the events of Machete, the character known only by the title of the movie is more infamous than ever.

When a revolutionary in Mexico has a missile aimed at Washington, the President (Charlie Sheen as Carlos Estevez) calls on Machete to go down and kill the terrorist. Unfortunately, he has the missile wired to his heart, stopping Machete from doing the thing he does best: killing.

Along the course of the movie, Machete runs into a slew of obstacles. All of Mexico wants Machete dead. They do everything possible to stop him, but there’s one problem. Machete doesn’t die.

Machete Kills is everything you expect it to be. If you go in expecting a great story with character development, you’ll be disappointed for sure. Machete Kills fails in this regard, but it doesn’t even try for that. No, it’s an over the top bloody, hilarious romp, and it’s a rip-roaring good time. This is where is succeeds, and if you go into it wanting something like that, it will entertain. What more can you ask from a Mexploitation film like this?

Unfortunately, the second half of the film is clearly setup for Machete Kills Again… In Space!, the third in the series that may or may not happen after the lack of success from Machete Kills at the box office. Given the trailer that plays at the beginning we know where it’s headed, and it feels exploitative watching it unfold.

Luckily, it’s still always entertaining. Machete Kills isn’t always the best acted film, as expected, but it’s easy to see that all the actors are having fun, and that fun rubs off. As the bad buy of this installment who will carry over to In Space!, Mel Gibson in particular, appears to be really enjoying himself. It really is great to see him able to put everything behind him again.

So – much better than what was released in the theatre and Amber has never looked better – ya gotta see this DVD – got to the extras section first of course.

Still haven't forgiven the director for killing the beautiful policewoman in Machete but hey, as you say, they are over the top bloody romps in fantasy world. Thanks for the write up.

I liked the first movie so I'll certainly see this one. Great write-up :)
