My dolls Daphne and Nicki

 

Wow, it's been nearly two years since I have had Daphne, and almost two months that I have had Nicki and to tell it like it is, my life hadn't been better.

My first foray into dolls

Well, long story short, I attribute my first entities that got me interested in artificial females to two sources: the TV show "Small Wonder" and the movie "Mannequin." Since those were released in the 1980s, and I was only a "tween" at the era, so you could say that I was exposed to iDollatory at a very early age.

My very first doll was a cheap inflatable, and so was my second. The first one was a "My Little Sweety" that I found by looking at cheap inflatables tested and rated on a men's magazine called "Maxim." I found one site that sold inflatables cheap thru that mag and plunked down the cash after finding one that was within my price range. She lasted me about 3 months before she gave up the ghost. My second was called a "Paris" inflatable and was supposed to be a cheap knockoff of Paris Hilton, the chick on the box looked a little like Paris, but the doll didn't even come close. She didn't last two months.

So, at that time, the only "dolls" that I knew were the cheap inflatables and mannequins. Nothing more, until about May 2005, when I was curiously searching Wikipedia and typed in the search term "Mannequin," hoping that I might just get something about the film. From there, to cut it short, was the wiki to the RealDoll. I visited the site and instantly fell in love with Rui, the RealDoll face #14. But its cost of $7,000 was very prohibitive to me at first. From there, I joined TDF and the rest is history.

Daphne (RSSD Candy 18)

I had visited TDF off and on twice since July 2005, one time frustrated that I might not get a doll, and the second time I went off was when I met my RG. Third time when I came on, I saw itsme selling his new Candy18's for $500. I instantly knew that was the doll for me.

So, hoping that I could meet itsme's price for one, out of the blue, uch on TDF sent me a PM offering me a deal, his Candy for any price I could ask, as long as it wasn't under $100. Sure, it was a beta model of the Deluxe Candy18, but it was my opportunity to get a doll that was not an inflatable.

Coming on two years later, that doll has given me the time of my life. I don't see her as just a sex toy, but as a friend and as a confidant that had been there while I was both up and down. Sure, the sex is, well, "wow," but that is what the RSSD is made for and she excels at it. But I have been noticing that I'm not the only one who treats their RSSD's as just sex dolls, but as companions too.

I have been noticing that the main reason why Daphne has been lasting longer than her expected design life, is maybe because I (and my RG) have been treating her like she's a member of my family even if others didn't.

Nicki (1st-pc Nicole body/Angie head full doll)

My first silicone doll. While I basically got her as part of a "marriage sale," in which one TDF member (Starion) was basically selling all of his dolls at bargain-basement prices because his wife of 4 months despised his dolls and that he had to get rid of them ASAP, so I took advantage of the sale and bought his 1PC at his offer of $100.

While he did say at those prices he was offering he could have just thrown them away but he also wanted the dolls to go to loving homes.

There are mixed reviews of the 1PC and I understand that. Some say that the 1PC is utter crap and there needs to be better QA there, and that is understandable. But there are a few (like me) who appreciate the 1PC for what it is, faults and all. After all, it is a starter silicone doll, if you'd like to put it that way.

But I have only "made love" to Nicki about twice. Once with her in a sitting position and another in the missionary position. It's not that bad, but since I didn't have a ribbed insert inside her, but it could have been better. But I will iterate again, a 1PC doll is not that bad for sex, you just have to prepare her for the event. Follow directions on the 1PC site on how to prepare your doll for the occasion and you'll be better off.

Conclusion

I might be one of the very few doll owners who has a middle-range doll and middle-high-end doll, but in effect I have kept my cost low in experiencing the field of doll ownership in that aspect. While I have only paid $100 apiece for my dolls but I have, while keeping my costs low, made this hobby the way I like it and I had finally found out that this hobby is for me. Maybe down the road, I might get myself a RealDoll or a similar silicone doll, but that is off into the great unknown for now.
