Chapter 4
One night, one of B’s roommates poked his head into his bedroom to say
something to Carme. He just froze and stared at me. His expression was
priceless! There was quite an interesting exchange between him and B,
but, in the end, he understood why I was here. So, “with the cat out of
the bag”, as it were, B introduced me to his other roommate. ‘Spooky’
was Bear’s word for me. “Spooky?" B asked. Bear said I was so lifelike
it was spooky. B just smiled and I felt all warm and fuzzy inside.
Maybe I am that pretty. If I could have, I probably would have blushed
at that compliment.
B has the best friends in the world, and with that, I may have the best
human in the world. A doll can hope. I know he isn’t rich, or famous,
or powerful, or ‘connected’, but the loyalty his friends give him, and
the way he must have loved K, is enough to make me feel that way.
Maybe… just maybe… I can give him a little of what he had with her.
