Emily Miku: A Doll's Journey [Chapter 5]

Chapter 5

B was quite busy the week following the Vegas meet helping move the center to its new facilities.  The stairs to the new location were tough enough on him that he had to use his cane after the second day, so he only drove the rental truck the third day.  He ended up taking the next two days off to recover.  His two favorite descriptions, of how he felt each morning were; “I hurt from the ground up” and “I feel like an ambulatory ironing board”.  I had to look up ‘ambulatory’ in one of his dictionaries.  He’s funny… and humorous… that way.

Now that the move is finally done, my captain can, as he puts it, endeavor an attempt at trying to, rest and recuperate.  

The next two weeks went by faster than expected, but were uneventful.  B installed Skype and spent a lot of time voice chatting with our TDF friends.  We were glad to put new voices to forum names.

Then, B hit the ‘game’ part of his cycle and started playing games on the playground.  He ended up having to re-install NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 because he managed to crash the program… badly.  He also got NFS: Underground and tried that.  He says, “The jury is still out on that game”.

His new camera arrived but he had to wait for the battery packs to get in before he could try it out.  Well, the batteries got here, and what does he do first?  He takes pictures of the SciFi Center.  What?  I thought he had gotten it to take better pictures of me.  Anyway, he did get around to doing that.

He decided to dress me in my bathing suits.  He did not like the dark blue one, even though it is a much thinner material.  It just did not do anything for him.  The white one, on the other hand, fit me a lot better.  I think he likes that one.  He took several pictures in the media room, paying me some unexpected attention every time he ‘adjusted’ me.  He plans to take more pictures over the next few days, in other rooms.

Well… the next few days turned into weeks… without any more pictures taken.

B was needed at the SciFi Center to help buy and transport building materials, then help in construction and re-opening preparations.  And, since his new duties there include tracking the finances and other ‘numbers’, he ended up spending more than a few hours in Excel, on top of everything else.  So, not only did I not get any more pictures taken, but he didn’t even have the time to help me with my story.

Anyway, he got the next two days off, and slept most of Sunday.  He seemed well enough rested today to add to and post this chapter.  I think he is working much too hard these days.  Maybe I should tie him to his bed so he can’t get out of it. <Giggle>
