The Interview - Lorrie Luster

By Tasha Marie

Getting to know this aspiring actress/model who is quite sophisticated and elegant but very down-to-earth. I am zazzed to have her here not only as my guest but on staff at Cover Doll where she hosts Masai's blog, bringing us the 411 on everything from luxurious watches to fine art and high finance.

This moonth is the first Anniversary of the Cover Doll Interview! So I wanted it to be special. Over the past year I've interviewed former Cover Dolls, rising stars and those dollies who have made a difference and serve as a positive role model for other dollies. I admire each one of them for their own unique persona and lifestyle. that's what we are all about here- lifestyles! Lorrie is all of that and bag of chips, as we say here in Jersey. She's smart, interesting, beautiful and will captivate you with her style & grace. Lorrie has been hosting Masai's blog since January, she and I started talking early on. The more we talked, the more we realized we had in common. Ofc this was when I realized more ppl needed to get to know this gal. When I explained that, she graciously agreed to have a chat with me!

Tasha: Lorrie hunny, in your Cover Doll feature we learned that you are from back east in the US.- Please tell us where you are from originally. You know, I am Jersey Girl and there are others like Alita, who live the mid-Atlantic states.

Lorrie: Hello Tasha, first of all, thanks for having me on your show for this interview and I am honored to be here. I was born in a small Northern/Mid-Eastern town named South Bend in Indiana. Because my Father was in high finance we moved a couple of times before I left home. First to Chicago, Ill on the South Side, then to New York City, Chelsea Manhattan. I could have stayed in NYC but I had Hollywood on the brain so I moved to the Bay Area California when I was 18 years old to stay with a relative in Oakland before I found my own place in San Francisco. I fly back and forth to Los Angeles from time to time but I like the SF bay Area.

Tasha: I LOVE how you and Masai met at an art exhibit. What made the “sparks fly” for you, when you met Masai?

Lorrie: Well, what did it for me first was how Masai was dressed and how he carried himself. He was also wearing some nice shoes and a really nice luxury watch. When we locked eyes the adrenaline hormones started exploding but I still maintained a bit of decorum, subtly if you will. He was reserved also and cool too so I felt comfortable to flirt with him from a distance. Finally he approached me to see if I was enjoying the exhibit and we began to talk. He was very interested in my favorite interests, vacation spots, restaurants and me in general which I absolutely loved. I found myself recalling all these pleasurable memories and I immediately connected with Masai which made it easy to fall in love with him on the spot.

Tasha: We first met a few months ago when I was captivated by your blog on luxury watches. I love how you presented the whole topic with your modeling and your knowledge. What inspired you and Masai to start there?

Lorrie: Thank you for your kind words about our "Luxury Watches" blog. You know Tasha, Masai and I talked about which content we would release first and Masai chose the timepieces because he is so passionate about his collecting and he's always upgrading his collection, so it was hot off the press. We felt really confident in our knowledge of the subject to jump off our blogs with the timepiece topic first. I am so glad you liked and appreciated the hard work that went into the presentation, my fashion and the subject matter.

Tasha: You deffo have a classic beauty and femme fatale vibe. But you are also very current in your fashion and style and you totes own it. Can you tell us about that a little and how you were inspired to blend genres like that?

Lorrie: Tasha, thanks again for that lovely compliment. Masai has created this classic beauty for me due to his consistent taste in women. He likes the classic films with Marilyn Monroe, Dorothy Dandridge, Sophia Loren, thick beautiful types but he also like some of the art and fashion coming from todays fashionistas. Somehow through osmosis he blended the two different eras and came up with how I look now. In terms of femme fatale, I could use my raw seductive power to dupe Masai into doing my bidding...but I don't have to, he spoils the mess out of me on his own without me saying one word. I'm glad you like the blend, I'm always going to upgrade my style and flava and it's nice to know that some folk appreciate it.

Tasha: Two of your blogs, “Seductive Outfits and Gift Ideas” & “Fine Art & Film” kind of flowed together for me. You have such a presence and those themes radiate from you. You mentioned 4 styles: The Girly Girl, The Creative Type, The Minimalist, & The Dog Lover. How many of them or how much if each is part of you?

Lorrie: Tasha, you're so sweet, I can not stop blushing. I definitely know that 3 of these categories are part of me. 1st Girly Girl, sometimes Minimalist and sometimes Creative Type. I am not a Dog Lover because I love cats, huge over weight, lounge lizard fluff meisters. Unfortunately for Masai, I am truly a Girly Girl with all the many demands that come along with that female phenomenon.

Tasha: HAHAHA Our dog is a sweetie but our cat is the boss of the house, she's a diva. You know...dogs have owners, cat's have staff. LOLOLOL. I deffo wanted to ask you about your perfect evening mentioned in Cover Doll last month. , You said it involved an easy dinner and dessert (and lots of other sexy fun). What kind of food would that be?

Lorrie: Well my favorite food which I eat too much of is pasta with pesto sauce, either fettuccini or bucatoni. Usually fish which could be halibut, salmon or red snapper. Vegetables are usually zucchini, asparagus, spinach, avocados, tomatoes and turnip mixed with mustard greens. Every blue moon -

Lorrie Continued: Masai will cook me a filet mignon to go with some saffron rice and a veg. and sometimes a sea food platter. Basically we eat like this all the time. My thighs are too thick and my biggest challenge is to slow down on the pasta and dinner rolls...and push back from the table sometimes even when the food is utterly irresistible.

Tasha: OMGZ I loooove seafood. Grilled salmon...pan seared scallops...shrimp scampi, crabs and ofc sushi! YUM! I know I am known for my love of cheeseburgers fries and pizza, but I'm totally a foodie. So you and I will have to talk more about food soon! Lorrie bbz, you have such a unique and classy style, glamorous yet very approachable. You mentioned being influenced by a number of models on Instagram and else where in social and other media and that you want to be a Hollywood actress and super model on all the major platforms. Do you have a social media page? If so can you tell us about it? If not, are you considering getting one going? You really would make a rad promotor/influencer on your way to becoming an actress/model.

Lorrie: Thank you very much for that sweet description of my style and disposition, your compliments give me so much confidence and an overall great feeling inside. Indeed I love so many beautiful, sexy, stylish females on IG and I love to dress like some of my favorite IG Models. I do not have a social media platform of media page right now and I'm not sure how soon I will get one. Right now I have backed off the demands on Masai's time because he has some huge projects underway. I am showing him that I'm not a total diva narcissist and I can be affable and supportive of his life dreams. He has been so amazing supporting my dreams and I am further along now than I thought I would ever be. I mean getting showcased on the cover of CoverDoll and blogging too...right now I'm living my best life. I'm not sure how I could be a promoter/influencer but it sure sounds prestigious, and once again, thanks for thinking so Tasha. You have such a fly personality and you are beautiful as well. Much success to you in all of your future endeavors and thank you again for having me as a guest.

Tasha: OMG Lorrie! I love how you are just so sweet an ddown to earth and I am so glad we are getting to know each other! I love how you two work together the way Teej and I do. I tease him a lot but everyone knows that's just me being a Jersey girl and we do love each other tons and like Masai with you, he totally supports me in my goals, this interview was one we made happen a year ago this month! That's so rad you and Masai have these projects going. You are deffo building a a personal brand right here in Cover Doll and TDF. We'lll talk more about social media and stuff whenever you want over dinner and and some wine fo sho! TYSM for being a bomb-ass guest for the the Interview's First Anniversary edition!!
