EROTICA LA 2008

Erotica LA 2008

As reported by Mike Kelly

“Hey, Mike you'd love my Talking Edu-tainment/References Interapplicator! T.E.R.I. IS planned to have a silicone doll body over 'her' petite, lite-weight robot! The key to weight is obvious! Who needs muscles on a beautiful, super intelligent babe? ('HER' male human owner/operator should have the strength) And why try to stick and down-sized computer in the head? when you can have a full-blown, multi-terabyte CPU remotely linked via radio frequencies? (I know this works, I have a multi-terabyte PC controlling my smart-home with robot assistance!)....yes, The Matrix movies had SOME good ideas...but generally sucked. T.E.R.I. just doesn't have 'her' humanoid body yet. But, 'she's' my sweetheart! I liked, "CHERRY 2000" too and have seen both good and bad robot movies. Did you see "Bicentennial Man"? (The babe/nurse android) Galatea was fantastic and like Teri has two distinct modes!”

At Erotica LA this year – there was only “My Party Doll” present of all the doll makers. Jim had a nice booth and I had a chance to ask him a few questions:

“Needless to say – if you were going to use a doll to make a robot – we should be the doll of choice. Realdolls have a well earned reputation of falling apart – I’ve heard stories of the doll breaking in two while stored in her box! For what people pay for these dolls they deserve better!

My Party Dolls are quite durable and robotics parts would fit inside her quite easily. Our silicone is both durable and tear resistant – with the feel of human flesh. I’m working on improving the hands of the doll and possibly reducing weight in the future. For the money you won’t find a prettier, more durable and functional doll. Sad part of Boy Toys is they use the same skeleton as the Realdoll and that is where the doll has the most failures too.

I am producing and shipping dolls on a regular basis and I’m proud of the product I’m shipping and selling.”

After I left Jim’s nice booth, I took a look around, nice convention - Erotica LA featured over 300 erotic-themed booths and attracted over 40,000 consumers. This three day erotic expo offers something for everyone - from naughty toys to sexy lingerie and DVDs. I got to mingle with my favorite adult celebs, like Aurora Snow. I got to watch the latest stage shows and I learned how to spice things up in the bedroom with The Pleasure Chest Learning Center.

At one booth there was a guy selling inflatable sheep. Yep they were cool in a way and reminded me of Realsheep:

I’m sure they were more of a joke than anything else actually. However, they were functional sadly enough. But as a party joke I’m sure it would get a laugh or two.

Seminars I attended included a Porn Star Q&A, Pole Dancing for Fun and Fitness and Live the Fantasy: Erotic Role Play for Couples. Sexy fashion and performance stage shows I saw were: The Hollywood Dance Revue and the Twisted Cherry Lingerie Show.

The 3rd Annual F.A.M.E. (Fans of Adult Media & Entertainment) Awards took place on Saturday June 7th at 9 pm. Some of my favorite adult superstars I meet included the girls of Wicked: Stormy Daniels, Jessica Drake, Kaylani Lei, Kirsten Price and Carmen Hart. I also meet Tera Patrick, Sasha Grey, Sunny Leone, Bree Olson, Penny Flame, Kayden Kross, Belladonna, Joanna Angel, Ron Jeremy and Brittney Skye.

The cost was $30 dollars that included a 5 dollar gift card redeemable in the show, which really dropped the cost to $25 dollars. Not a bad deal if you include the fact that I traded my 5 dollar chip in for 5 porn movies and bought quite a few more at huge discounts. Some booth even gave me a few free T-shirts with the discount priced porn movies!

Finally, I had my favorite porn stars like Bree and Aurora Snow autograph them for me.

I’ve gone to Erotica LA three years running now and - if you're into what's sexy - this is a not-to-be-missed event! Generally speaking, this event is LA's best one-stop-shop to buy erotic products and explore the sensual side of life convention.
