Meet Anna Marie

Anna Marie is a WM-157B with head 36. She began life as a WM-140D and her body was upgraded in late 2018. The extra height has been really nice for me. She also has the hinged neck and shrugging shoulders, the latter in particular being great for photography. They open a whole new avenue of expression. Her eyes have been upgraded to MannequinFan Easy Move Eyes with eyelids – another great feature for creating expressiveness.

Instead of doing a single shoot, I decided to break the shoot up into small segments and shoot them over the course of several weeks. Some of the shots were ideas that I have wanted to try for some time. Many of them are just me playing around with angles and perspectives (my usual way of shooting). I was really just trying to capture how beautiful Anna Marie looks to me every day. I’m not sure that I succeeded – she’s pretty darned beautiful to me, after all. But I hope I got close.

Equipment

For equipment (don’t laugh) I used my Samsung Galaxy S8, which features a 12MP sensor with an f1.7 lens. (That’s me trying to make it sound fancier than it is. lol) I primarily used available light, with the occasional addition of a couple of LED flashlights that I bought at the checkout at AutoZone and a desk lamp that I can aim (sort of)… Nothing but the best for my baby! I’ve been learning to use the “Pro Mode” on my phone, which allows me to manually adjust shutter speed, ISO and white balance. What you’re seeing here is the beginning of that learning curve, but I hope you like it. Post processing was done in Lightroom and Photoshop.

When I was asked to do this shoot I will admit that I was a little nervous about it. There are some amazing photographers here who are, quite frankly, out of my league. But I do love taking photos of my girl (and she sure loves the attention), so I decided to embrace the opportunity. I did my best! Anna and I hope you enjoy the images. :)

All our love,

Anna Marie & Broven

Note from the Editor: Each month we will feature a different photographer's work. We invite doll owners and manufacturers alike to participate in this new monthly feature. Photo shoots must meet a minimum quality level. If you do not meet that level we are happy to work with you, critique your photos and help you to raise the bar on your photography. Good photo shoots can be had with low cost digital cameras. It is all in the technique.

This is good, not everyone is (or needs to be) in the photo-pro league when it comes to our dolls. In fact, it's easier to relate to a fellow photographer who is also experimenting and learning.

And yet, Anna Marie rocks every pose she's put in. But she should really give up smoking. wink

Thank you, Zang! I'm really glad that you liked the photos. :)

But you just try taking her cigarettes away...  She has a mean right hook....  lol

great pics of anna even the ones that didn't make the cut are great.

Woow!! This is an exceptionally good series.  It is an absoute delight to watch these photos, as the posing of Anna Marie is in pretty much every photo perfect, or very close to perfect. It makes me very much eager to believe that she is alive.

Thank you, Broven! Well done! yesyesyeslaugh
