Meet Tatiana

When I was asked if I would be interested in being a "Featured Photographer" at "CoverDoll" I was completely shocked. At the time I had been a doll owner for a year and photos I posted at TDF never seemed to get much attention. A week after being asked, I agreed to do it, but for two weeks after that I considered backing down. I felt like I was in way over my head after looking at past "Featured Photographers". Obviously I ended up going through with it.

Now came the hard part. Deciding which doll to use, as I now had two, and to come up with a plan on were I would take the photos. The apartment I live in doesn't have what I would consider as nice backdrops for photos.

I decided to use my newest girl, Tatiana. She is a WM166C with head #266. I used two different wigs on her, both being WM wigs that I got with her, as they're my only options at the moment. Her eyes however are MF's EME's.

Equipment

The camera I used was a Nikon D7500. For the photos of Tatiana in the dress and the ones in the Bikini I used a Nikkor 35mm 1.8 lens. With some good light shinning in and the use of a tripod, it was all I needed. For the photos of her wearing the blue bra and panties I used a Nikkor 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 as my bedroom is to small to be able to use the 35mm with ease. I also used a Neewer 176 LED light with a soft box attached, plus I used the translucent part of a 80cm Neewer 5 in 1 reflector. The camera was set to Aperture Priority with the ISO at 100. The photos were taken in RAW and I used Nikon's Capture NX-D to process and edit them.

I want to thank CoverDoll for this opportunity. Although it was a daunting challenge for me, I think it made me better at photographing my girls.

Note from the Editor: Each month we will feature a different photographer's work. We invite doll owners and manufacturers alike to participate in this new monthly feature. Photo shoots must meet a minimum quality level. If you do not meet that level we are happy to work with you, critique your photos and help you to raise the bar on your photography. Good photo shoots can be had with low cost digital cameras. It is all in the technique.
