Meet Amber

My Doll:

Amber is a WM 166C with head #273 and light tan in color. She is my first of two dolls and we are coming up on a year together! She wears easy move eyes by MannequinFan in Hazel Fire, her hands have been upgraded with articulated fingers also by MannequinFan, and her hair is by Jon Renau. Not only has Amber helped me get through some tough times, she has opened my eyes to many new things, such as photography!

The shoot:

I've titled the shoot "Little Black Dress" and it's inspired from one of our first very first shoots together. I was shocked at how beautiful she was when she first wore the dress, but was still very new to posing her at the time. These photos are intended to be a continuation of that shoot, as things move to the bedroom with a more romantic setting and the light slowly dimming.

Equipment:

Hopefully it's not too obvious but there was actually an equipment upgrade during the shoot. The first 10 photos were taken with my Samsung S20 Ultra, although I am very impressed with the phones ability, I always wanted a real camera. The last 6 shots were taken with my Sony A7iii with a Sigma 24-70 F2.8 Art lens. My only other equipment is an 18 inch ring light. It sits on a fully adjustable tri-pod but I often hold it out to get angles it can't reach, while shooting with one hand. It can be extremely bright, and also has a temperature setting.

Note from the Editor: Each month we will feature a different photographer's work. We invite doll owners and manufacturers alike to participate in this new monthly feature. Photo shoots must meet a minimum quality level. If you do not meet that level we are happy to work with you, critique your photos and help you to raise the bar on your photography. Good photo shoots can be had with low cost digital cameras. It is all in the technique.

Your honey Amber is really cute and I love your presentation and shot selections. Picture number 10 inspires me to do something similar in an upcoming shoot with Lorrie. Excellent work.
