Meet Faedra

Faedra - This Bunny Bites

My Doll:

Faedra is not an elf. I'm not really sure what she is but I do know she has some very sharp teeth. Her lovely pointy-eared self is from Elsa Babe and although she doesn't have a body of her own, she manages to find a way to show up in my home anyway. Her body of choice lately is borrowed from Kami, my HR 158cm doll. Faedra seems to enjoy Kami's full and slightly pear-shaped curves. Of course, I enjoy those curves too but that isn't important… Faedra gets whatever Faedra wants.

The shoot:

This isn't the shoot I had in mind. In fact, I was wrestling with a bunch of different ideas and failing at executing any of them. I was surprised when Faedra stepped in and volunteered to pose for me… grateful actually. I think I needed a firm hand to get this project done and Faedra gave me the confidence I needed. I've been working on various bunny outfits for the Kittens and Faedra dug through my drawers and used some of it with some of her own stuff. I was a little surprised that she wanted to do the whole "bunny" theme. Of course, I really had no idea what she was planning… This bunny bites.

Equipment:

Everything was shot on my beloved Fujifilm X-T1 mirrorless APS-C camera. I prefer prime lenses and I used 2 Fuji XF lenses, my 27mm and 60mm macro, and my favorite lens of all time, my vintage 1960's Olympus Pen 38mm. I've been shooting Fujifilm cameras for a decade now and I love how compact and light they are. One of the things I wanted to feature in this shoot is the quality of the jpeg images straight out of the camera. None of the pics in this session have been processed afterwards, just renamed. My camera uses Fujifilm's X-Trans II sensor, a quirky design that was said to produce a more "film-like" pixel structure. I love it and am super happy to have found this system. Sadly, this sensor is no longer made so I'm hoping my little camera has tons of clicks left in it's little heart! I've also popped 3 Anaglyph Stereoscopic photos into the shoot. To see the effect, you'll need a pair of cheap red/cyan glasses. I'm a big fan of 3D photos and hope more people will give it a try. I've written a little tutorial on TDF if you're curious.

Note from the Editor: Each month we will feature a different photographer's work. We invite doll owners and manufacturers alike to participate in this new monthly feature. Photo shoots must meet a minimum quality level. If you do not meet that level we are happy to work with you, critique your photos and help you to raise the bar on your photography. Good photo shoots can be had with low cost digital cameras. It is all in the technique.
