Meet Celia The Doll: Celia is a Zelex-Doll4Ever 155cm silicone/TPE hybrid doll with human hair wig and MannequinFan's Easy Move Eyes. She has been my constant companion for four years, arriving on my doorstep looking for love on the summer solstice in 2018. Since that fateful afternoon, my beautiful brown eyed girl has brought joy and sunshine into my world each and every day. Her life before that time is a mystery. Whenever I ask, she just smiles and says that it doesn't matter, all that is really important is the here and now. The Shoot: When ranger42 contacted me way back in March of 2022 to invite us to submit a photoshoot to Coverdoll featuring Celia, I was honoured, flattered, and frankly surprised. Knowing the very high quality of the photos presented in the magazine and the talent and high standards of all the photographers who have preceded us, I knew that I wanted to do something special for this shoot, which I have titled "Celia - Forest Maiden". And that meant postponing it until late in the summer when I could take Celia to a very special place. Our family cabin deep in the forest somewhere in southwestern Nova Scotia. We shot the photos over two days in August and October. The tree stump series was inspired by one of my favourite photos on TDF ... Mr_Fix_it's camping trip photo of Honey posed on a similar stump. The Gear: All photos were shot in aperture priority auto with a Nikon D750 and Nikkor AF-S 50mm f/1.8G Special Edition, on a Manfrotto tripod. No fancy lighting gear for me, as I prefer to shoot with natural light whenever possible. The stump series was photographed under a bright overcast sky, and the second series in late afternoon open shade with some supplementary fill flash to lighten the shadows where needed. All were edited to slightly tweak exposure, contrast or colour balance with an ancient copy of Photoshop Elements. Thank you for viewing our photos, and we hope you enjoyed your visit. Photo shoots must meet a minimum quality level. If you do not meet that level we are happy to work with you, critique your photos and help you to raise the bar on your photography. Good photo shoots can be had with low cost digital cameras. It is all in the technique.
