Meet Nadia The Doll: Our choice for this shoot was Nadia aka naughty Nadia, an iconic combination of Zelex 170C silicone body and head GE94-2 in tan color with deep blue eyes and nice pouty lips. Nadia came to live with my wife and I during the Holidays in December 2022 for a nice Christmas Suprise. Nadia loves to get dressed up with hair and makeup done although for this trip she had to rough it, put her hair up and dress down but she is always game for a photoshoot.
The Shoot: Shortly after being asked if we would like to do CoverDoll my wife and I were planning a vacation and what better vacation than a camping week filled with wilderness, photography and dolls. The location we chose was a secluded property in the pacific northwest USA along a river amongst massive Douglas-fir trees. Most shots were taken outdoors in the constantly changing shadows and sunlight through the trees and the indoor shots were taken inside our camping trailer during a wild game of poker.
The Gear: Phase One medium format camera system switching between both 45mm f2.8 wide angle and an 80mm f2.8 prime lenses. We shoot tethered directly into capture one software to get a idea of the finished shot and finish off in Adobe photoshop for touch up. For lighting this trip, we used up to three 300-watt strobe flashes with a combination of a 22x90cm Strip softbox, 61 x 91cm softbox and handheld reflectors. Nadia & sim3sum
