For a while, high-end latex dolls like “Latex Lady” helped. These 400 dollar blow-up dolls looked much better than cheap vinyl blow-up dolls that cost around $100 dollars. Interestingly, the first Realdoll was a latex doll and it looked very good and was actually quite durable. The owner of the doll liked it and requested the same doll be made in Silicone, so the story goes.

These silicone Realdolls were made from tin-cured silicone which degraded over time which led to tearing problems and had other durability issues. The doll was quite pretty however and sexually functional. RD had 100% of the high end silicone doll market from 1996 till 2001 when Superbabe entered the market. The Superbabe, while more durable lacked the Realdolls stunning looks and disappeared from the market.

Today, some feel that Realdoll, once the ultimate, is now being outpaced by other, rival companies making better, more durable dolls. Recently Lovable Dolls, Ruby 13 and Private Island Beauties are offering silicone dolls that could make RD’s obsolete. The bottom line is: why be devoted to dolls that weigh 2-3 times as much and break more often than other dolls?

We have seen the introduction of “Realdoll 2” and if Abyss uses the same weak skeleton in 'Realdoll 2' then we will have nothing more than a slightly improved version of a doll that has already proven to be too fragile. When skeletons break, which is alarmingly frequent the doll can be completely ruined. Today, we have several new Platinum dolls that just entered the market at about 5.5K, which is nice amount because BoyToy is $7500 and is made from platinum cured silicone. The RealDoll is at $6500 so these dolls are much less than an RD.

What is the big deal about Platinum Silicone you may ask? Platinum cured silicone is much more durable and resistant to tearing than tin cured silicone. Platinum cured silicone is also inert (does not change) once it finishes curing.

Three new Platinum dolls have just started shipping to customers and both have been handled by doll hobbyists. You may ask yourself, which of these new dolls gives one the most value for your money? That is a VERY difficult thing to decide upon actually between Ruby13 and Loveable Dolls and Private Island Beauties.

Let’s look at Lovable dolls: First, Lovable dolls is run by Matt K. and Bronwen formerly of Abyss Creations – they are quite the doll team with years of experience between them. Lovable dolls come in two body styles an the time of writing this article – the female body #2 is the same as body #1 but with D cup breasts. Body 1 is about 5'3" and her measurements are 32A-22-30 and a size 7 shoe. The weight is around 65lb. The price is $5499 and includes realistic eyes that are worth $300 dollars separately.

Now – let’s look at Ruby 13: Ruby has a variety of interchangeable heads for different makeup and expressions, her body is voluptuous and less realistic than a Lovable doll – the boobs are huge on this doll for example (DD). Ruby had her beginnings as a sculpture made from car body fill. She was a labor of love by Don Edmondson, a talented artist who drew sexy biker girls that appeared in Easy Rider Magazine. Ruby weighs about 58 lbs and only has one body style. She is 33-20-33 her bra size is DD and shoe size is a 6. Her price is $5200.

Another fabulous platinum doll is the new Private Island Beauty dolls. They weigh about 80 lbs and have very nice round bottoms. For Anal Sex - these are the perfect dolls as their sculptor Patrick loves anal sex with a gal with a round and pretty bottom. They cost an amazing $4800 and the doll has three entries that work - including oral. The addition of excellent oral capabilities at no extra cost may tilt many in favor of this doll.

All three dolls have replaceable heads, weigh 58 – 80lbs and feature durable frames. The future doll market with these three as examples is very bright; even more dolls are the horizon made of Platinum silicone and feature durable frames.

Conclusion - The dolls are very similar, but if you are looking for Realistic Eys at no extra charge go for Lovable dolls. If ya gotta have DD boobs – go R13 AND if you want the best Oral and Anal sex - go with the Private Island Beauty doll.
