Angels Have Arrived!!

This month I felt it was a good time to visit some Angels. As luck would have it two of our best known 1/6 scale seamless doll companies have two excellent

versions of divine inspiration.

Our First Angel is called: Tianji Wang Hexi.  I have not been able to find almost no information on who she is with respect to her character. Best I have been able to discover is that she is a student at a Super Divinity School. Of course everything in and on the box is just like Chinese to me, although they are in fact made in China, go figure.

The Set:

This set was absolutely wonderful when I first opened it and saw that she was already 90% dressed. Just as it should be all of the armor is nice stiff plastic and looks just like the real thing. The first bit of disappointment was her skin tone. I matched her to the Phicen suntan and she is way to much red for a match. Of course that won't stop me from getting a nude Jiaou Doll body for those more intimate moments. She came with a stand but for me the beauty of these dolls is their ability to pose and stand on their own two feet. She does this well even in full outfit!

Next came the Cape and the shoulder caps and those tiny studs. Oh, let me tell you this part is tricky. You really need 3 hands to do it correctly. And in the end, after all that grief, the cape is like, I could do with out it.

Now the wings. These scare me to be honest. The word delicate is not strong enough. They come folded on a soft wire frame. You have to carefully unfold it and shape it as you want. Fortunately the cape has a big slit in the back and the wings do attach with a strong slide in place mechanism. End results are very satisfying.

This is a definite 9 out of 10 in my book.   For this set I put her right back into her original shell and box. Other then having t fold the wings again to fit in there. space, the entire figure, with cape and shoulder pads in place, fit nicely in the shell. Just all slipped back into the box and on the shelf. She is definitely one to revisit for future Angel themes!

Our second Angel is Kier: Shadow of Heaven:

Back Ground Story (Phicen):

Peer through the lens of twisted time, and gaze upon the glorious Kier: Shadow of Heaven . This variant of the Kier: First Sword of Death,  imagines an alternate timeline in which Kier was formed as flawlessly as her twin sister. In her ethereal perfection, she was never banished from heaven. She was praised for her

single-minded rage. Her beauty, grace, and valiance are almost enough to distract from her blood lust.

I prefer the version were this is her form before Lucifer and the other rebellious Angels were tossed from Heaven to Hell were she now reigns as the champion of and as Lucifer's' right hand!

The Set:

This one is very simple and plain. Nothing super fancy and the armor is very plain for a Phicen set. But let's not forget SideShow as they actual take credit for the set. Thus they are why they used a soft footed body when there is another with a hard foot that would do just as well. Unfortunately the concept of a 1/6 scale figure that doesn't need a stand is beyond their grasp. When I opened it up and took it a part I almost missed the set of straight wings. I was not aware of the second set and they are hidden in a compartment in the last foam top.

The only issue I had that I just said, I an going to even try, was putting on the cape then the wings. Now just like all  Phicen  winged girls, there are 2 small holes for the pegs on the wings in their backs. The peg on the wing does not go in straight but slides in at an angle. Now try and find 2 holes in the back of the cape and alien the lining holes on the inside and then slide a 1/4 inch peg thru the cape and slide it into the tiny hole in the back.  Maybe you can do it but I know better. Besides the wings are so much easier with out it and it doesn't really do much. The only other draw back was putting her away. I used one of the shells that the older bodies with the old stand inside. Unfortunately her head has to be put in loose as the halo is to big to fit when on.

This is an 7 out of 10. If they had used the same body for the first demonic version of Kier then it would have been a 9.5 and deleted the cape and added a few more pieces to her armor then it could have been an 11.
