Meet Manami

The Doll:

Manami is a 4Woods AI Doll S + with the Manami head, her skin colour is medium, her eyes are dark brown and her lips are red. She was manufactured in December 2012 and arrived in the UK early 2013, she has been a photography model all that time, she came to live with me towards the start of my doll life in the summer of 2018, she’s still in great condition for her age and a delight to work with because she’s only around 29kg with her boots on.

Manami is not new to Coverdoll, she was on the cover of the February 2013 edition, Yes, 10 Years ago to the month, her name was Mani back then and she lived with Kharn in Alektra’s Castle, her hair colour's now changed and I believe she might wear a bit less these days too. Thank you to the Coverdoll team for allowing me to do '10 year's later' photoshoot.

The Shoot:

I need to paint a picture of the madness in my life. In summer I have a fantastic set-up with a large outdoor space, I get the chance to take loads of photos of dolls and it works well. I also converted my garage into a small studio, for winter, only I have now found it is full of the summer garden furniture and props during the winter so I can’t get into there during the colder wet months of the year.

My bungalow indoor floor space is a total of 57sq meters, which would be more than adequate if I didn’t have 60 full sized dolls which photo bomb every photo I take, it is surprising how many dolls are hiding in this shoot.

The Gear:

All photos were shot in Manual with a Nikon D7200 I was trying to only use Sigma 17-50MM 2.8 EX lens, space limitations meant I switched to a Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 EX lens for some shots. Lighting 1x Neewer NL660 LED Panel Light so I have some light to see what I am doing and 1 x Yongnuo YN560 III Speedlite*sat in a Godox 80Cm 31.5In Octagonal Softbox.

Post-processing*was done in Lightroom Classic, any borders were added with Nik Collection ColorEfex Pro 4. I can edit the life out of my photos, so for a change I decided only vignette and borders allowed and certainly no Photoshop allowed.
