Masai’s Blog: March 2023 – What Would You Love To Learn How To Do?

I don’t know why but lately I’ve been thinking about places I want to visit and new things I want to learn that somehow evaded me during my blessed lifetime. I’m not sure if it was fear that kept me from learning or just pain stubbornness but I didn’t get it done. Now I’m not sure why I want to tackle these things late in life but I know time is of the essence and there is unfinished business.

I was chopping it up with Lorrie the other day and I was telling her about the things I still want to do and she encouraged me to go ahead and make it happen. It was nice to have her support my dreams instead of me always facilitating her demands and desires. It’s not a whole lot of what I still want to learn but here are a few items I wouldn’t mind adding to my repertoire.

* I never really learned a foreign language completely, I can speak a little French and a little Spanish and that’s it. I’d like to learn a little Swahili, German and I want to speak French fluently.

* Don’t ask me why but I still struggle driving a stick shift car. Fumbling and bumbling foolishly. It freaks me out on tall hills. I need to get over it for real.

* I have water skied before but I was always afraid of snow skiing. As a child we would ride sleds in the snow but I never learned to jump on those skies. Also my parents couldn’t afford the equipment so…..

* Ice Skating is another one that got away from me. Now Roller Skates is a different matter. I am a good roller skater even to this day.

* Being a castaway on a Luxury Cruise Ship is something I never really desired but now I’m thinking I might want to do it once. What I want to learn how to do, is operate a yacht and maybe own one one day like Klay Thompson.

Yes, these are a few of the things I want to learn before I expire and with Lorrie’s support and encouragement I just might get a couple of them accomplished. What are some of those items you still want to learn? We are all life learners so the list never ends. Have fun learning something new, Lorrie and I will be right there with you.
