This month, I am featuring both Naimei and Peach, my two TaYu girls. Naimei is 148cm and Peach 161cm tall - these dolls were obtained from TaYu directly. Peach was sent for her debut and I spent a few days taking photos of her. In this set, I decided to have Naimei and Peach together in a nice hot set. This was quite difficult, as I had to secure them so they would not fall over. This routinely happens, sometimes with consequences, so I now use bungee cords to secure them to the upper supports to prevent accidental tipovers. I bascially edit out the cords in post. This day while fiming was pretty sunny, and I did not need to use too many extra lights, just the ocassional strobe or gold reflector. The girls stood under a shady spot, and being relatively late in the day, the amount of red light scattered from the sun was high, and created a nice golden glow.
As usual, I shot them with my 35mm lens and set it for DX mode, which reduces the 62mpixels to ~24, with the benefit of getting the lens to 55mm, which I like. So I really do not need so many Mpix, as a scale images down anyway, but the added benefit of having a f1.4 lens now at 55mm is a bonus. If I use my 85mm in DX mode, it becomes a 135mm, except with a f1.4 aperture. My Sony mirrorless is able to switch mode on the fly, and with the added benefit of being able to meter live is huge for me.
