Masai's blog: Who Inspires You? - August 2023

I have two people who inspire me and they are both architects. These people are Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid. They are both avant guarde thinkers who I have so much respect for. Frank is still aive at 94 and was at the top of his game at 81. Zaha is deceased but lived to be 65 years old. When structural engineers have to build from these two architects blueprints, it drives them absolutley batty but they pull it off and get the job done.. I think of the two artists Zaha’s architectural drawings are the most challenging because everything is so curvy including the glass. I personally connect with Frank Gehry’s work because one he designed the Guggenheim Museum of Art in Bilbao, Spain and two the Louis Vuitton building in Paris, France. Both buildings are extraordinary.

Frank also moves and inspires me because he is so prolific and very sought after as an elder statesmen. I try to apply his focus, stamina and outside the box creative thinking when I am producing art. He works very welll with young people enabling the whole team to execute extremely complex buildings flawlessly. I create paintings and sculptures and watching Gehry behave in his studio is awe inspiring. He makes me want to constantly step my game up espescially with precision craftsmenship. Before I go, there is one more person that inspires me and he is an 82 year old sculptor named Martin Puryear. All three of these human beings are my heros and I can’t get enough of their work.

Do you have a Muse, someone who inspires and guides you? Lorrie and I hope you enjoyed our presentation this month, live and let live.

Damn!

I only have my smartphone to see these photos and its small screen really struggles to contain Lorrie's beautiful curves. You might as well try to put the Bilbao museum in a shoebox!

4891d, much much love and appreciation for your attention to all the nuences attached to Lorrie.  Bless you.smiley
