As we approach Christmas 2014 I thought to do a piece on Miraculous Births in Mythology. You know the sort of thing, Krishna (India 1000 years BC) when the divine Vishnu descended into Devaki and was born as her son. Horus (Egypt 2000BC) born to Isis from the reassembled parts of Osiris and becoming the 'light' against the evil Set. Buddha (2500BC) when Queen Maya was whisked up into the mountains by angels and attended to by a magnificent white bull Elephant. Zoroaster (Iran 1200BC) whose mother was impregnated by a shaft of light & who reconciled between good and evil. Mithra (Persia 600BC) born from a rock by a lightburst from heaven to become the 'light of the world' and mediator between heaven and Earth. Lao-tse (China 500BC) conceived when his mother gazed upon a falling star and founded Taoism. Oh, and so many, many more, Jesus for example, born of a virgin.
But it all got too complicated and messy with so many translated variations and intertwining stories (Like Chinses Whispers) I gave up. Yet there were amazing similarities between all of them. As for me, if you have read my blog 'Who's Your Daddy' I am simply thinking about all the excuses women may have come up with over the eons to explain their unexpected pregnancies. Visitations from Zeus was very popular and then there was "It's not my fault. I was visited by Angels" - sounds pretty good to me. But, speaking of Angels ....
Anyhow, instead I decided to do slideshow of Natasha ...

A few years ago it was claimed that 37% (& more) of the internet was Porn. The figures, based on some very spurious analysis of selected website clicks and extrapolation, excited the religious, interested Governments and oft continue to be quoted in the media for shock & awe. In actual fact more reliable research reveals that only about 4% of the web is Porn and around 14% of web users regularly access it. But as there are so many unsought interconnections which pop up on Porn sites, duplication of content and other factors, the truth is, nobody really knows exactly how much of the internet is Porn. But, like the Universe, even less than 5% of it is still a hell of a lot.

As a general rule Birds mate for life, and it seems, like us, play 'Happy Families'. But all is not what it seems. While Hubby bird is away gathering twigs for the nest and playing provider, the Mrs is busy with 'Other Things'. Yep, Non-Paternity or misattributed paternity (as it is called where offspring are not related to the male in a pair bond) varies between 17 to 75% among the different species of birds. Not only are female birds promiscuous, they also give their illicit chicks preferential treatment with 75% offspring from the 'extra pair matings' being produced in the first half of the egg clutch.
Believe it or not 'Birds' of the human variety are not so different - raising the possible question "Who's your Daddy"?
A guy did a survey in a City Mall. He had a selection of photos of men and, showing a photo of one of them to women passing by, asked "Would you Date or Go Out with this guy". Before deciding they were allowed to ask a question. By far and above the most frequent question asked was "How wealthy is he?" (or an equivalent). Fair enough wouldn't you say? After all, what they potentially have to offer is a much sought after commodity.
On another side & cutting to the chase, Politicians, Executives, Management at least down to 'middle' and the catch all 'Business Men' do so enjoy the celebrations of finalising some Contract or 'Deal' or even to 'sway the deal their way' with a bit of expensive pussy. And then there is the rest of us, from 'Pillars of Society' to 'Curb Crawlers' (not mutually exclusive), keeping the ladies busy and their purses (or their pimps' wallets) filled. With Studies indicating well over half of married / partnered men partake of paid delights - and it ain't cheap - one can but wonder what their wives or partners think about it? Surely they know ..... don't they?
